Press Friends - Foshay Flash

PressFriends is a nonprofit formed and run by kids for kids. Their mission is to use writing to increase opportunities for underserved elementary students, to empower every student to become a socially-responsible leader and mentor, and to create compassion and understanding among youth from diverse backgrounds to strengthen communities.
       In this Fall 2016 issue of the Foshay Flash, as a mentor I was responsible for the complete editing of several articles of elementary school students. Prior to the publishing of this issue, many hours were spent on my behalf to assure that students were on task and able to produce a final article. 
        This Spring 2017 issue of the Foshay Flash also called for article editing on my behalf. This set of articles were different from ones included in the previous issue as these articles focused on the student's capacity to use persuasive language, reporting skills, and overall ability to interpret complexities.
